About Slowslowzo

Slowslowzo is a multi-tasking carer/artist; making art & writing in the fragments of time between looking after her dad; juggling caring, domestic and creative work. The Contortionist, her first solo exhibition of Lino & Riso prints, was shown at the Museum of Chelmsford in 2025.

Slowslowzo makes work concerned with Care, Aftercare and Self-care, and focuses on mental health when making zines to challenge our expectations; Don’t swallow the Hysteriazine! & A shock to the system, Project Risk and the Mad System & Can You Open the Doors to Freedom Without the Keys? 

Slowslowzo gained a BA (Hons) in Drawing at Camberwell College of Art (UAL), and is a member of The Hive Studios, Chelmsford. She has exhibited with the following groups: The Hive Artists Studio, The Agency of Visible Womxn, Activate Arts, Fem Ad Lib Kolectiv for C.R.A.S.H.Culture (labofii/ArtsAdmin), SNAG, 73 women, the Shape Arts Open and fans of feminism (London Met).

Fascinated by artists who are on the edge/s, Slowslowzo studies the work of the S.I. and the Laboratory of Insurrectionary Imagination & Artists who make something out of very little;  Cecilia Vicuna, Valie Export, Ana Mendieta & Artists whose art is crafted; the Gees Bend Quilters, Candice Lin, and Chiharu Shiota & reading wildly the writings of: William Gibson, Susanna Kaysen, Luke Harding, Yoko Ogawa, Ben Okri.

I think I should be working when I am creating, and I think about creating when I am working.
