HAG

HAG is a state of mind and presence. Making HAG   in paper mache was a cathartic process. A process of self discovery, and my post carer self.

Except caring never ends. We are always caring for each other, we all have needs and are interdependent. Interdependence is an important standpoint in feminist philosophy from Carol Gilligan to Joan Tronto and more.

Yet, I am HAG. A fully formed HAG. With saggy bits and pieces my HAGself is proud, and swimming.

Hag
My body hangs heavy
My limbs thick with fat
And sag.

Sagging
And bloated
My skins elasticity
Snapped
My breasts supported
Only by rounds
Of flab.

Flabby
And overloaded
With strong arms
Swimming lap
After lap.

Pulling
my misshapen self
Through the waters
I do not sink
I am a Hag Afloat.
