    And non demons

    A divided mind that sees

    Only Them demons 

    And us.

    Here and there

    Divided into tribes

    Divided by appearance

    Divided along the lines

    Of politics

    Do we need to be

    divided

    By demonology? 

    And create little demons

    To be despised.

    Little demons

    And left to rot.

  • Project Risk: The Book of Risks

    Who is at Risk in an institution? Those who run away… Basaglia and his colleagues unlocked the doors to the Asylums in Italy. The book tells of the risks to survivors in the UK.

    This is a work in progress all part of Project Risk and the Mad System.

    The Trieste Model of Democratic Psychiatry abolished the locked in system of detention. The Book of Risks is my gift to staff/survivors of Trieste/Gorizia explaining the risks faced by survivors in the UK MH system.

    The Risk of eating unhealthy foods. Fruit and vegetables are not available at every meal.

    The travelling red carpet with ‘gifts’ for Trieste (at an event organised by the mental health social justice network, with the Trieste contingent present).

    The Contortionist exhibition will be at the Museum of Chelmsford from 5 September to 24 November 2025.

    The Caregiver as a Contortionist

    In the exhibition slowslowzo presents raised and twisted arms that work their way across the printed pages. The lino print collage ‘Don’t lose yourself looking after others’, exposes how Carers also need self-care. 

    The Carer/Contortionist can only do care work if she herself is well, and must juggle domestic, caring and creative working. My zine explores how this juggling might be possible.

    The Contortionist has a life outside of care work, a social life and creative work life. She feels the fear of the care trap and so the juggling of demands begins. The Contortionist can only do care work if she herself is well, this is an act of survival not a selfish action.

    Kid Gloves. Rebelle cannot find herself in the Notes, for the Note writer reshapes her story in The History of Hysteree. In the beginning was the lab rat. Are the Hysterixx lab rats or wayward women, or just questioning the eternal fraternity of lab masters in The Hysterixx are not Laughing? Rhona awakes laughing, only to find herself back in the old place. An urban explorer guides her through the BackWardz
